What are the responsibilities of an engineering manager?

The specific responsibilities of an engineering manager can vary depending on the type of organization they work for and the specific needs of the team they manage.

An EM at Google is different than an EM at a startup.

In general, however, engineering managers are responsible for overseeing the work of a team of engineers and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

This can involve setting goals and objectives for the team, coordinating the work of team members, and providing support and guidance as needed. Engineering managers may also be responsible for hiring and training new team members, as well as managing budgets and resources for the team.
